Facebook Turning out to be the Next Big Thing to Get Organ Donors

There is no doubt about the reach of social media networking site Facebook, but little was known that this could also be used for looking for organ donors. It has been found that there are many people who have found their suitable organ match on Facebook after they could not get one from any other mean.

Recently, the news of 38 years old Damon Brown from Seattle had been getting the attention of one and all. It was told that the father of two has found kidney donor on Facebook itself. It was made possible after his friends and family supported the page being run under the name, 'Damon Kidney'. The page caught the attention of many and Jacqueline Ryall came to rescue of the man.

It is not for the first time that someone has got organ donors through Facebook as there are cases of a Michigan man and another Florida woman who have been able to get donors with the help of social media networking sites. This has been even admitted by the United Network for Organ Sharing, a nonprofit organization that manages the nation's organ transplant system for the federal government, that there are many such cases where people have used all possible means in their capacity to reach out to those who can extend their help in this regard.

There have been rampant use of word of mouth or an advertisement to ensure that as much as possible number of people could be reach out to, but it has been found that social media sites have been able to get fair results so far. Perhaps the growing use of Facebook by one and all has opened this avenue for those who have not been able to reach out to possible donors.

As of now, the transplant has been approved and soon Jacqueline would offer her help for saving one’s life.
