Para Sarjana Mendidik di Daerah Terdepan, Terluar, dan Tertinggal (SM-3T) Maju Bersama MencerdaskanIndonesia yang mendaftarkan diri melalui Unnes rencananya ditempatkan di tiga kabupaten. Ketiga kabupaten itu adalah Aceh Besar Provinsi Aceh, Ende, dan Manggarai, keduanya di Nusa Tenggara Timur. Pembantu Rektor Bidang Akademik (PR I) Agus Wahyudin mengemukakan hal itu seusai menerima laporan tim Unnes yang mengikuti sosialisasi dan workshop persiapan program tersebut di Yogyakarta, Kamis (20/10), di kampus Sekaran. “Kita akan terjunkan 121 orang ke Kabupaten Aceh Besar, 133 orang ke Kabupaten Ende, dan 46 lainnya ke Kabupaten Manggarai,” ungkapnya. Sebagaimana diberitakan sebelumnya, Unnes tergabung dalam LPTK yang menjadi penyelengga program tersebut. Dalam program itu, para peserta yang lolos seleksi akan mengabdi selama setahun di berbagai pelosok Nusantara. Sepulangnya, mereka akan mendapatkan beasiswa untuk mengikuti Pendidikan Profesi Guru (PPG) selama setahun. Dikemukakan, mereka yang mendaftar ke Unnes dan mengikuti seleksi di universitas konservasi ini bisa lulusan dari mana pun. “Hanya, mereka harus lulusan program studi yang terakreditasi dan program studinya dibutuhkan di tempat asal. Hingga kini kami masih terus berkoordinasi mengenai kebutuhan bidang studi apa saja di daerah-daerah tadi dengan dinas pendidikan setempat,” katanya. PR I juga menginformasikan, pendaftaran yang semula dibuka mulai 20 Oktober ini, dimundurkan jadwalnya menjadi mulai 24 Oktober. “Silakan para calon pendaftar selalu mengikuti informasi terbaru mengenai program ini, baik memalaui website ini (unnes.ac.id) maupun laman ksg.dikti.go.id/majubersama,” katanya.
